In the Bleak Midwinter

Winter at the Edge of the woods

Everyone seems to be surprised- after several mild winters, Northeast Ohio is having a true, authentic full blown Winter. Lots of snow and ice and everything in abundance. The view from the edge of the woods is both marvelous and daunting.
And daunting is the word I want

“Daunting- seeming difficult to deal with in anticipation: intimidating”

Living on the edge of the woods I have discovered that every season has its great abundance and winter is no exception. Even though it seems, dark, empty and cold and void- Winter is all about abundance An abundance that cuts to my bones and speaks deeply to my silent inner self. Winter seems to demand something new and deep from those of us who are creators and makers. The cold itself takes on personality and insists on being listened to and we must respond.
