My Counterintuitive Winter

I am both an artist and a semi-gardener. The Winter Months are wonderful for the Northern Gardener because there is nothing you can do about your garden. No guilt, no concerns about weeds and slugs. However, in the art realm winter is like a incubation chamber. So much to do, so many places to “go”, the possibilities are endless. And, I do not have to feel like instead of painting I should be weeding. It is the one time of year when there is no competition between garden and art. I do love that part.

So, instead of Gardening, I spent the winter creating my mixed media pieces on the current theme of “:The Grassland Diaries”. Celebrating the voice of the Grasslands and celebrating that I see them as beautiful inspiration and not as weeds.
