I grew up on the sunny shores of Southern California. Even though it has been roughly 50 years since I left that lovely place in the sun I still find myself each year wrestling with winter. Living of the edge of the woods,I see winter at its very best and yet I still find myself tempted to melancholy when the leaves are gone and the icy winds come. This year, as every year, I have to remind myself that Winter is a wonderful teacher and that I often learn more about myself in winter than in the warmer and “funner” months. Let the lessons begin
